Mumford & Sons have announced their first album in seven years, ‘Rushmere’, with a new single due to arrive tomorrow (January 17). Find all the details below.
The London band will release their fifth full-length record on March 28 via Island/Glassnote, following on from 2018’s ‘Delta’ (pre-order/pre-save here). Their Pharrell-featuring 2024 song ‘Good People’ does not appear on the tracklist.
‘Rushmere’ marks Mumford & Sons’ first album as a trio, comprising Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett. Banjoist Winston Marshall departed the group in 2021, after facing backlash for praising a book by right-wing US journalist Andy Ngo.
“Our new album ‘RUSHMERE’ will be released March 28th, first single out Friday,” the band wrote alongside an official trailer, which includes snippets of new music and behind-the-scenes footage studio footage.
They went on to confirm that the track and album was co-produced by their “legendary friend” Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Slash). “We’re excited about this one, first,” the band added. Watch here:

1. ‘Malibu’
2. ‘Caroline’
3. ‘Rushmere’
4. ‘Monochrome’
5. ‘Truth’
6. ‘Where It Belongs’
7. ‘Anchor’
8. ‘Surrender’
9. ‘Blood On The Page’ (feat. Madison Cunningham)
10. ‘Carry O’
Speaking about the prospect of releasing new material in an interview in early 2024, Ben Lovett said: “It just feels so great to be sharing new music again after all these years.”
Mumford added: “I think we always felt like we knew we were going to release some more music, but we wanted to wait for the right music. We’ve never been in haste, I don’t think. But when this music came around, we had a sense of urgency and I mean, it was only a few weeks ago that we made it, we wrote it, let alone recorded it.”
Ted Dwane explained that they had “a lot of songs kicking around” at the time and said the group were “really excited”.
In 2022, frontman Marcus Mumford released his debut solo album ‘(self-titled)’. He teased a new record from Mumford & Sons that year, explaining: “The next thing really is to get in the room with the boys in the band and start playing each other the songs we’ve written.

“I’ve got a bunch that are kind of ready to go. And then we’ll make a record, and tour it, and get to do what we love.”
They then debuted a new track called ‘Maybe’ during a headline set at Austin City Limits in Texas in October 2023.
Last October, the trio played a brief set at a Kamala Harris campaign rally in Wisconsin. Mumford & Sons currently have just one live date in their calendar for 2025, Under The Big Sky Festival in Whitefish, Montana.
