Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff are part of the BeyHive, and attended a Renaissance tour show back in August — and, turns out, the coveted tickets were gifted to the couple by Beyoncé herself.
According to financial disclosure reports released Wednesday (May 15), the tickets to the show at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, were valued at $1655.92, per NBC News. “Thanks for a fun date night, @Beyonce,” the Vice President captioned an Instagram photo on August 6 of herself and Emhoff, taken before they headed to the show. In the snap, Harris followed the popular Renaissance tour dress code, rocking a sparkly gold button-down shirt, which she paired with white trousers and heels.
Harris is a longtime fan of Beyoncé, and most recently shouted out the superstar following the release of her latest album, Cowboy Carter. “Thank you for reminding us to never feel confined to other people’s perspective of what our lane is,” she wrote on X of the album. “You have redefined a genre and reclaimed country music’s Black roots. Your music continues to inspire us all.”
Back in October, the Vice President told People in an interview that the lead single from Renaissance, “Break My Soul,” was one of her favorites. “I just love that song,” she shared. “I play it all the time. I think it’s one of the anthems for women . . . when [Beyoncé says] ‘you,’ you could be life, you could be a person, you could be a situation. You will not break my soul. I can endure.”
